1. Jonathan (Sr.)¹ Nichols was born Lycoming County, England March 28, 1748. Jonathan died March 6, 1837 Elk Co., PA, at 88 years of age. His body was interred Brandy Camp, PA.

He married Rhoba Martin. Rhoba was born November 15, 1751. Her body was interred Brandy Camp, PA.

Jonathan served in the military Revolutionary War.

Jonathan (Sr.) Nichols and Rhoba Martin had the following children:

+ 2 i. Martin² Nichols.

3 ii. Israel Nichols.

+ 4 iii. Jonathan Edwin Nichols Jr. was born 1775.

5 iv. Rhoda Nichols was born March 26, 1779. Rhoda died September 5, 1834 at 55 years of age. She married Capt. Potter Goff October 19, 1797. Potter was born March 26, 1779. Potter died November 12, 1845 Elk County, PA, at 66 years of age. (See Capt. Potter Goff for the continuation of this line.)
